Finally!

My boyfriend's Christmas scarf (well, Valentine's scarf now) is finally done. Here it is in all it's glory:

It's a little hard to see but if you click on the picture it enlarges it and makes it a little clearer.

The scarf pattern is Interlocking Balloons by Shirley Paden, from the book Scarf Style by Pam Allen. The wool I used is Alpaca Peru by Luxury in Brown Heather.

I am so relived that it is finally finished. Now I can start on this:

A scarf for me. Done in a simple K1P1 rib and Joy by Needful Yarns. It's Merino wool and self striping. I'm interested in seeing how the colours turn out.
I'm also working on placemats for my dining room table, using one of Suss Cousins' patterns from Home Knits.
And finally, I'm going to make the mittens to match the Tasseled Fez.
So, I'd better go get started.

Yea! The camera works!

Finally after a lot of re-vamping, cajoling, and cursing...I got my camera to take and download pics without crashing the computer. (and there was much rejoicing...).

So, at long last here is the new apartment:

The Living Room:

As taken from the door of the den, the dining room, and the front door. In the last photo take note of the coloured blocks on the floor. They are this:

My boyfriend's scarf finally finished and being blocked.

Anyhoo, back to the apartment:

The Dining Nook:

The Kitchen:

Taken from the left and the right.

The Pantry:

Again taken from the left and right.

The hallway leading to the Master Bath and the Master Bath:

The door in the photo of the hallway leads to a small powder room which I tried to photograph, but they didn't turn out well.

The sides of the mirror in the master bath swing in to reveal two compartments. Kinda cool really. There is also a toilet in the room with the shower.

These are shots of the balcony. It's hard to get an idea of the size from these pics but it really is nice and big. The Master bedroom leads off the master bath, but I didn't take any pics yet because it is unfinished.

The Den:

The computer, my knitting/reading space in front of the electric fireplace, and my stash (some of it).

And that's it. It's not overly big, but to my boyfriend and myself it's home.

One last pic. My co-workers got together and bought us a housewarming gift. It was a big basket and contained all this:

The wool in the container was not included. It was my boyfriend's idea to use the bucket for my current WIPs.
Well, that's my post for today.

ARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!

Okay....still no pics since when my boyfriend tried to hook my camera up to his computer we succeeded in blowing all of his USB ports. We managed to get new ports from his brother, but now we are hesitant to try the camera again. Oh well... C'est la vie! At least I can still post even if it's not as exciting without pictures.
I am stuck inside with the COLD FROM HELL. I need to do groceries, but I can't seem to bring myself to get dressed and head outside. I know I'm pretty sick, because I can't seem to care about knitting either right now. Sigh...I hope this ends soon because I have lots of stuff I want to get started on, and I have to finish my boyfriend's scarf first.

Moving is hard work...

Ah...my poor neglected blog, I've missed you. THE MOVE is almost over (I still have one bag full of yarn to move and some appliances my mom is letting me have, Oh and my mom and I have to duke it out over who gets which sweaters), but other than that I'm in my new apartment and have been for two weeks. The furniture is there and looks wonderful, and I can finally knit again! (Let me tell you...Ikea furniture and knitting...bad combination. Those allen keys wreak havoc on your hands). I have no pictures because I have to install my web cam on to my boyfriends computer...but I will have some soon.
The stash is well...stashed and I have lots of room to expand it once the KFYS2007 is over in September (sock yarn doesn't count) OMG! Have you heard about the dumb bankers and Socks that Rock?! On the one hand you have to be happy that the bank is looking out for the Credit card users interests...but on the other hand..."so many people couldn't possibly be interested in sock yarn (HELLO do these bankers live in a cave?) therefore Blue Moon Fiber Arts must be running a scam. For anyone that hasn't heard about this I send you to the Yarn Harlot, she has a great description of the situation.
Okay...detour ended, back on track...where was I? Oh yes... the stash...I have a nice big closet dedicated to my stash...and a wonderfully dreamy knitting spot. Right in front of my electric fireplace (as close to real fire as I will get in a 2ndloor apartment) on the love seat.

I'm still working on the scarf that was supposed to be my boyfriends Xmas gift (I'm hoping to have it for Valentine's now) and then, since winter seems to finally be making up it's mind to arrive, I'll have to finish my scarf and the mitts to match the tasseled fez.

Anyhoo, I only have a short time left on my break, and I want to read some more of my Chicks With Sticks book. So TTFN and KEEP KNITTING!
